Hi Everybody !!!!!
Sorry bout the long time no post but you know how it is_______huh Robert !
When Tessa commented that I hadn't blogged for a long time, I said to myself-- you gotta get on there and blog a little. When Robert commented that I hadn't blogged, I said to myself, Holy Smoke!!!! He is still out there!! Just Kidding Robert. I know you are really busy right now. Golly the whole family is just got so many things going that I just kinda read everybodys blogs and know all is goin well and selfishly go on my way!!!!!! Sorry bout that!
Well my work partner retired so I am franticly looking for a replacement. We have the job posted in the Post Office and the Internet. I have 3 weeks vacation left over from last year and can't take any till I get someone broke in to take care of the place when I'm gone. Believe me, I'm ready to take a week off !! Uh Oh I have to run for right now. I promise I won't be gone so long this time-----I Love You ALL !!!
P.S. Almost forgot --- I also started tearing the bathroom apart. We decided its time for a facelift. Will send pics later----byby

There was a man who worked for the Post Office ...
... whose job it was to process all the mail that had illegible addresses. One day, a letter came addressed in a shaky handwriting to God. He thought he should open it to see what it was about. The letter read:
Dear God, I am an 83 year old widow, living on a very small pension. Yesterday someone stole my purse. It had $100 in it, which was all the money I had until my next pension check. Next Sunday is Christmas, and I had invited two of my friends over for dinner. Without that money, I have nothing to buy food with. I have no family to turn to, and you are my only hope. Can you please help me?

The postal worker was touched. He showed the letter to all the other workers. Each one dug into his or her wallet and came up with a few dollars. By the time he made the rounds, he had collected $96, which they put into an envelope and sent to the woman. The rest of the day, all the workers felt a warm glow thinking of Edna and the dinner she would be able to share with her friends. Christmas came and went. A few days later, another letter came from the old lady to God. All the workers gathered around while the letter was opened. It read,
Dear God, How can I ever thank you enough for what you did for me? Because of your gift of love, I was able to fix a glorious dinner for my friends. We had a very nice day and I told my friends of your wonderful gift. By the way, there was $4 missing. I think it must have been those thieving bastards at the Post Office.

Well what have we been doin?
Not too much exciting goin on. I have been hauling top soil from out grass valley road to fill in the big ditch that was by the new brick wall my neighbor put in. It took 12 pickup loads !!
We took a drive up Hinkey awhile back. Drove up to Lye Creek Campground. Was a real nice day. Bette wanted to see the trees changing colors but we were a little late. A lot of the leaves were already down. It was a pretty and fun drive anyway.

On our way back we stopped by Winnemucca Farms where brother Roy was baling hay. (He is all finished haying now)
Other than that it's just been kinda work, come home, walk, kick back. My job is going well. I really enjoy getting home at 3:35 in the afternoon. I like the job a lot, its not a hard job and I get plenty of excercise. I kinda go at my own pace according to what I need to get done and create my own daily schedule. Besides my every day clean up, I do the ordering for the post office, I deliver express mail when the carriers are behind, I install cluster mail boxes when needed.( or when a car decides to run over one). I keep the lawn mowed, the trees trimmed, the grounds kept up. I do a lot of lock changes ( good to get out in the country). I reluctantly was made safety captain so I have to give a safety meeting once a week and insure that a safe environment is maintained for all employees. We have six mail trucks (LLV's - long lasting vehicles) that I have to assure that are keep maintained and serviced. I am very thankful that I have this job. At my age, it's perfect. Last week I completed my military buy back and recieved the papers the other day. It cost me $203.00 and now all of my time in the service goes to my retirement from the Post Office. So I now have over 5 years at the P.O. Enough about my job!! Bette is starting to get ready for Thanksgiving. I hope everyone knows that there is a standing invitation for all of our family to our house for the Holidays......ALWAYS!! We love you all and look forward to seeing any of you when we get the chance. Well I best go get something done....It's another nice day!! ............................... Love you all!

Hi all !! We have had a great summer. We had a pretty small Garden but are still getting some tomatoes and cucumbers and carrots.

Bette has enjoyed her flowers. Now the trees are all turning yellow and, guess what, they are also FALLING OFF !! It rained here last night pretty good so I have an excuse to wait awhile before I start on the yard.

Got to see Derek, Katie & Tessa last week-end. Like always, they never stay long enough. Bill came up Tuesday and spent the night---had a nice visit. He caught a plane to Boston at 4:30 this morning. Seems like forever since we seen Chad & Paige, maybe we can get to Vegas and see them before too long ! I have lived in Nevada since 1956 and never been to Vegas!!!!! Missing Troy, Lori & Robert ! I guess if they don't get down here to see us , we will have to try to get to Castle Rock too.! Still have to meet Kalee !! We talk about all this traveling, but when the snow falls, we will probably just want to huddle by the fire !!!! Hope everyone had a good summer. Love and miss ya !!

Well my last day of vacation I decided to take one more trip up Bottle Creek. Got there at daylight. Besides some other nice fish - 13 to 16 inches, I snagged a 19 inch trout. That is the biggest ever heard of out of that creek. I think it must have been the Morman Crickets !!

Well we finally got a little time off. We both love the Ocean so thats where we headed. Left thursday and spent 2 days at Crescent City and headed back Sunday. Had a good time. It is looking real slim for me to get off work for us to come to the Graduation. We had real high hopes and was approved for vacation before My work partner took sick leave for radiation treatments for cancer. At first he had planned to be back in time for me to go, but it was the 2nd of May before his treatments got started and they will last 6 to 8 weeks. If, by chance he gets back on the job in time, we will get to be there but it doesn't look very promising right now. We were so looking forward to seeing everyone. But that doesen't mean we can't come at a later date. We are so proud of you Robert & Tessa !!

Well Mr. Ed (my work partner) came back to work this week. They will not start his treatments til next week sometime. That will really cut it close for me getting off for the twins graduation. His treatments last 6 to 8 weeks. All I can do is keep my fingers crossed !!!! All is fine here. Hope you all are doing well. Well, You can see whats happening around here. We are hoping to get this all done by the time good weather sets in so we can spend time in the yard and garden. We are both wanting to get out and enjoy some sunshine. The job is going good. My partner at work will be off for 8 weeks so I will be pretty swamped unless they let me hire some part time help. He is going to Reno for radiation treatments. Hope it all goes well for him and he gets back by June !! We are planning to go to Robert & Tessas' Graduation and then on to Seattle to visit Dana & Steve for a couple days. Haven't had any vacation for long time now. Been kinda visiting everyones blogs and decided I better get my feet wet and start one of my own. Guess the only way to learn is to DO!!! Life isn't toooo exciting around this town but I'll find something to scribble about once in a while! The Pics of the kitchen aren't too much in order but, heck, I was lucky to even get them on here ! OK GOTTA GO FOR NOW !!!! MISS YA ALL !!!!
